About Flourish Organics, Flourish2Life and Geraldine Woessner

Approved Organic StandardMy name is Geraldine Woessner. I was born and grew up in Dublin, I have lived in Kerry since 2001 and the move to the country was like a new beginning for me.

My life before that was in complete contrast to what it is today. I lived in Dublin city and worked as a fashion designer. The travelling and long stressful hours eventually took their toll and I got really ill. I was completely burnt out and started getting panic attacks which were linked to the stress and anxiety. The doctors wanted to put me on medication but I was determined to tackle the problem naturally . It was then that I discovered the benefits of Meditation and Reiki. I did various courses at the Dublin Buddhist Centre and studied all three levels of Reiki up to the mastership.

What I learned through these practices really changed my life. They helped me get back in touch with myself and with what is really important in life. They helped me take back control of my life and I learned to take responsibility for my own health and well being. It turned my life around and instead of worrying about every little thing I was grateful for every little thing. So I decided to get out of the fashion industry and help other people help themselves by passing on to them my knowledge of Meditation and Reiki.

Shortly afterwards I got really interested in other forms of healing therapies and I did an Holistic therapies course at Walmer college Dublin, where I studied Massage, Reflexology, Aromatherapy and Diet and Nutrition. I now feel equipped with all the tools I need to help others help and heal themselves.

I set up The Healing Room across from our home in the beautiful, tranquil location of Gortnakilla and people often comment that just being in this peaceful place makes them feel more relaxed.
why I started producing natural cosmetics

As a qualified Aromatherapist and someone who cares about the environment I wanted to use a natural base cream as a carrier for essential oils. I found it very difficult to find a natural product which was also affordable. So I decided to make my own, after a lot of research and trials I was very pleased with the final products. I got so much positive feedback from people who tried them that I decided to go into business.

I wanted to produce a range of products which are:

  • KIND TO YOUR POCKET-to encourage people to go natural I wanted to keep the products affordable; huge profits are not my priority so I don’t charge extortionist prices
  • KIND TO ANIMALS-my products are free from animal products and are not tested on animals.
  • KIND TO YOUR SKIN-I use only the best natural, most luxurious ingredients for my products. I have researched which can cause harm and avoid using them.
  • KIND TO THE EARTH-One of my top priorities is the environment and the effect the ingredients I use has on the world around us I do not use petrochemicals or artificial fragrances.
  • Where possible I give people the option of glass containers
  • All the oils, waxes and butters I use are organically grown
  • Where possible the ingredients are sourced locally eg. Beeswax from local beekeepers. Some of the ingredients like the flower petals are grown organically in my own garden.
  • KIND TO THOSE WHO LIVE ON THE EARTH-My business is ethically run, all the ingredients are ethically traded

And lastly but very importantly I treat the senses and bring a bit of pleasure and pampering into peoples lives with the natural luxurious quality of the products I produce at an affordable price.
